ASTM A106 Gr.B seamless steel pipe
ASTM A106 Gr.B seamless steel pipe is a seamless carbon steel nominal pipe widely used in high-temperature service.
It conforms to ASTM A106/A106M standards.
The following is a detailed description:
Chemical Composition:
Carbon content ≤ 0.3%, Silicon content ≥ 0.1%, Manganese content between 0.29% and 1.06%, Phosphorus content ≤ 0.035%, Sulfur content ≤ 0.035%, Chromium content ≤ 0.4%, Copper content ≤ 0.4%, Molybdenum content ≤ 0.15%, Nickel content ≤ 0.4%, Vanadium content ≤ 0.08%.

Mechanical Properties:
Yield strength ≥ 240 MPa, Tensile strength ≥ 415 MPa, Elongation ≥ 22%.
Specifications:
OD generally ranges from 21.3 mm to 914.4 mm (1/2' to 36'), wall thickness ranges from 2.77 mm to 60 mm, and lengths are typically available in random lengths of 5 to 7 meters or fixed lengths up to 12 meters. Manufacturing Process: Includes cold drawing and hot rolling.
Applications:
Due to its excellent mechanical properties and high-temperature tolerance, it is widely used in various industries, including petroleum, chemical, boiler, power plant, shipbuilding, machinery manufacturing, automotive, aviation, aerospace, energy, geology, construction, and military. It is particularly suitable for pipeline systems that transport high-temperature fluids such as water, oil, and gas.

Testing Methods:
Flattening tests, non-destructive electrical tests, ultrasonic tests, eddy current tests, and magnetic flux leakage tests are typically required to ensure that the quality and performance of steel pipes meet standard requirements.
A106B American Standard pipe is a US standard ASTM A106 Gr.B seamless steel pipe, corresponding to China's 20# steel and 20G high-pressure boiler tube. Its carbon content ranges from 0.17% to 0.24%, silicon from 0.17% to 0.37%, manganese from 0.35% to 0.65%, and phosphorus and sulfur contents are both ≤ 0.030%. It offers a tensile strength of 410 to 550 MPa, an elongation of 24%, and an operating temperature range of -29°C to 425°C.

This steel pipe has an outer diameter range of 1/8 inch to 26 inches (21.3 to 711.2 mm), with wall thicknesses in the STD/XS/XXS series, and can be processed up to Ø820 mm. Production methods include hot rolling, cold drawing, and extrusion. It is primarily used in oil and gas transportation, chemical media systems, power plant boiler piping, and machinery manufacturing. Sales cover numerous provinces in China and over 40 countries and regions in Southeast Asia and Europe. The implementation standards include American standard systems such as ASTM A106, API 5L and ASME B36.10M.
